The Bills pro and college scouting departments are filling up quickly. On Thursday the team announced the hiring of Marvin Allen and Brian Adams as National Scouts.

“Both men are veterans in this league. They’ve been in it for a long time,” said Bills GM Brandon Beane. “It’s the same thing as players, we want to grow and develop. These are two guys who will be over the younger scouts and be part of helping us grow and develop our scouting staff. You just can’t replace their time and accomplishments in the league.”

Allen has spent the last four years as the Director of College Scohis style of play. The now retired Bulgarian was always a polarising figure among fans of the club, as some felt his style was too lazy compared to forwards Carlos Tevez and Wayne Rooney. But Berbatov considers himself “an artist on the pitch” and had uting for the Kansas City Chiefs. A 24-year veteran in NFL scouting, he also spent five years scouting for the Atlanta Falcons, serving as a National Scout after a few years as a regional scout.

The early part of his career was spent with the New England Patriots where he served as an area scout ed with Barcelona.Griezmann finally completed his long-awaited move from Atlético de Madrid to Camp Nou on Friday having seemed set to join Barça last year before opting to stay put. Barça triggered the €120million release clause in his contractfor 16 years (1993-2008).

“Marvin started in the 90’s. He’s most recently been a college (scouting) director so he’s sat in that seat,” Beane said. “He’s going to be a great resource not only for me, but for all our college scouts.”

Allen also had a four-year NFL career as a running back with the PatJody Morris said Chelsea need to address their home form ahead of their third round FA Cup tie with Nottingham Forest on Sunday. With Tribalfootball.com in attendance, Frank Lampard’s assistant was standing in for the pre-match press conference and sariots, who made him an 11th-round pick in the 1988 NFL draft.

Adams has more than 30 years of scouting experience. He spent the 2016 campaign as the Midwest regional scout for the Dallas Cowboys, but spent seven years with the Saints. He also has a working history with Beane, spending seven years in the Panthers scouting department.

“I worked with Brian in Carolina. We had a long history there,” said Beane. “Brian went to the Saints to take a promotion to Assistant Director of College Scouting, and was most recently with Dallas. He’s a veteran in scouting and well respected across the league. I look forward to reuniting with him.”

Robert Woods keeping his sister's word alive

content_img

She was his best friend and a person he looked up to and respected. Not just because she was family. She was his only sibling. Robert Woods’ older sister, Olivia, was a model student, a quality softball pitcher and well-liked by anyone who knew her. For Robert she was a role model and a confidante, but at just 17-years old Olivia Woods was uttering the last words she would ever speak to her younger brother. She was now confiding in him.

Diagnosed with synovial cell sarcoma in her leg at age 12, Olivia had reached the end of a courageous five-year battle that included chemotherapy, radiation and a leg amputation. Meanwhile Robert, two years her junior, was emerging as a budding football star at their high school, Serra, in southern California.

Even from the confines of her bed Olivia reminded Robert to stay humble, but in April 2007, knowing the next words she would speak would be among the last she uttered in the physical world, Olivia had to let her brother in on the conversation she often had with her mother.

“She was a role model for him and she always told me that Robert was going to be special,” said Sharon Woods of her daughter. “I remember Robert telling me that his sister was special, but she really meant it when she would tell me, ‘No, he’s really going to be really something special mom.’ I always was taken with her conviction with what she said.”

In her home with her family by her bed side for the last time she would give her brother some words to live by.

“Her last words to me were that she wanted me to be a model,” Woods said. “And I said, ‘Model? What do you mean?’ So she said it again, ‘I want you to be a model.’ And then it clicked that she was maybe seeing something that I couldn’t. So I took it as, be a role model. Always be positive. Be positive in life. Those were her last words to me. So I guess the whole time here with us she kept me humble, humble, humble and then her last words she put it on me.”

Be a role model.

Not a surprising request from an older sister who was as selfless as they come. After having her leg amputated and returning to school as an early teen, Olivia didn’t want anyone to know she was walking around with a prosthetic leg. Her family adhered to her wishes. She didn’t want any extra attention because she was battling cancer.

When she went to get a summer job she told her mother there would be no mention of her medical condition. She wanted to get the job based on her skills not pity.

“She just wanted to make her own way,” said Mrs. Woods. “She learned how to swim again. In high school she was elected school secretary of state. She was on yearbook committee. She was a real go-getter. We just honored her that way by letting her be herself.”

Being a first-hand witness to all of Olivia’s fighting over those five years only strengthened Robert’s own resolve in everything he put his mind to.

“Robert was the same way,” said Sharon Woods. “He saw her work so hard and fight. She was a strong fighter. I think that rubbed off on him as he got older.”

Long before Olivia’s struggle however, Robert was a pker Antoine Griezmann.Mundo Deportivo says United have entered the race to sign Griezmann this summer.United are monitoring a move for the French World Cup winner and insist that there is no deal agreed for him to join Barcelona yet.The report also aretty self-motivated kid. It didn’t matter what the activity was. Whether it was tee ball, checkers or school work the Woods’ only son didn’t take on any challenge, he attacked it.

“He wasn’t very quiet, he always smiled and laughed. He was always an overachiever,” said his mother. “He always wanted to do things perfectly. He always wanted to be first.”

“In baseball when he was young he always wanted to cover everybody else’s position,” said Mrs. Woods. “We would tell him, ‘You stay there.’ But wherever the ball would go he wanted to go get the ball.”

“Pretty much the whole outfield was mine whether it was left field or right field,” Woods said smiling. “If the ball was in the air I’d try to go and get it.”

In the fall Woods would play in the very competitive park football league in his hometown of Carson. To illustrate how competitive it was, Woods played on a roster with four other talents who also currently play in the NFL.

“The majority of the teams had a lot of talented players,” said Woods father Robert Jr. “And Robert’s team was talented. Paul Richardson, who was a rookie receiver this past year with Seattle, and Dion Bailey also with Seattle were on his team. Marqise Lee, who plays for Jacksonville. Shaq Richardson now with Pittsburgh was on that team. So as a result there were a lot of kids that had to touch the ball on his team.”

That would prove to be an adjustment for Woods, who wanted to do as much as possible to help his team win.

Woods was making a lot of plays to help his team, but maybe a few too many. Other parents weren’t thrilled with all the opportunities Woods was getting with tnized” by their recent European ban.The Sky Blues have been banned from Champions League football for two seasons, although they are appealing UEFA’s decision. And Rodgers thinks the situation will provide Pep Guardiola’s players with an added motivathe ball, often at the expense of other players who were just as talented. Woods’ parents quickly made Robert understand the value of teamwork.

“We impressed upon him that other players on his team had to get chances with the ball too,” said Robert’s father. “So we told him he had to share the ball with other players.”

The ultra-competitive Woods wasn’t thrilled with the idea, but his father had a solution to appease his son.

“I came up with a phrase for him called ‘touches for touchdowns,'” said Woods. “Whenal.Fotomac reports Arsenal are ahead in the chase to sign the player, who only joined Juventus from Sassuolo in the summer. The Turkish starlet is rising to prominence in Turin this season, starting the last four games in a row under Maurizio Sarri, n you get it you’re going to have to score. He was happy as long as he had two touchdowns a game. So in Pop Warner he would average about 20 touchdowns a season in a 12 to 14 game season depending on whether his team made it to the ‘Super Bowl.'”

That phrase led to a ritual developed by his parents to keep their son’s mindset in the right place before every game thereafter.

“The night before games we would try to come up with a new slogan for him for that game the next day,” said Robert Woods Jr., who played his college football at Grambling. “And if we didn’t do it he’d ask for the new saying for that game. So we’d try to give him a confident quote to motivate him for the game.”

“Being a Christian family we would make use of faith-based quotes as well,” said his mother. “It helps keep him focused and uplifted. He looks for that text message from us even now and the day of the game we always text him in the morning and remind him to have fun.”

Goal setting was encouraged by Robert’s parents. While Woods was clearly self-motivated, Robert and Sharon Woods wanted to ensure their son’s energies had the proper direction. Hanging by the door in his room was a white marker board. On it were his goals as he got ready to begin high school.

“The board was right by my door so when I’d leave my room I’d see it every day,” said Woods. “So I’d write my goals down for the season and I had my GPA up there. I wrote down everything I wanted. Then I would write under it how I was going to accomplish those goals. Then I’d cross them off as I achieved them and write new ones down.”

Woods chose to attend Serra high school, which had a small enrollment of just 600 kids. It wouldn’t put Robert on as big a stage as some of the larger area high schools, but his mind was made up two years prior when his older sister chose to attend high school there.

Unfortunately the siblings only got to spend one semester at the school together because Olivia soon became too sick to attend school. Robert, who knew how much his sister enjoyed the social scene at Serra, would report to her every day as soon as he got home from school.

“He would run up the stairs and go up to her room,” said Mrs. Woods. “The first thing he would do is go see her and tell her about his day. They were very close. That was a very emotional time for all of us, but especially for him.”

“She was really my best friend,” said Woods. “So when I’d come home I’d tell her about everything that was happening at school, who asked about her and events that were going on at school, how games went.

“It would put a smile on her face because she was missing it. I was her connection to that social life for her. She was probably the most popular person in our school. People to this day remember her birthday. She touched so many lives and everybody would come up to me and talk to me about her so I would come home and spread the word to her.”

Robert would talk to her about how his football season was going. As a freshman on JV he quarterbacked his team to an undefeated season, and then was called up to varsity at the end of the year. As a safety he intercepted a pass in a playoff loss, and returned it 90-plus yards for a touchdown.

Unfortunately Olivia’s condition wasn’t going as well as her brother’s high school football career. Forced to stay in the hospital for treatments the Woods’ family simply made Olivia’s hospital room their home.

“After school he would head to the hospital to spend the evenings with her,” said Mr. Woods.

“He did his homework in the hospital in the evenings,” said Mrs. Woods. “So he was a big part of the support system that we had there.”

“We were there so much every day, after school and after practice,” said Robert. “We would go right to the hospital and spend the night with her. It was like we were at home. The doctors would come and visit, but when they left we would talk, watch TV, play games. We weren’t really in the hospital in our minds. We were just trying to make it family time.”

Robert’s sister never heard about or saw her brother’s sophomore season when he made the Cal-Hi Sports All-State Sophomore team. She passed on April 19, 2007. Their high school was closed on the day of her funeral so the student body could pay their respects.

“We had a very large funeral for her,” said Mr. Woods. “There were about 1,500 people who attended. People from our places of work, family, friends and students. The doctors from the hospital, the nurses were there. They planted a tree for her at school.”

“She touched a lot of lives and I think she was just an amazing girl that I will never forget,” said Mrs. Woods. “Robert was very strong amazingly through her passing. He was very, very strong.”

Woods would go on to post eye-popping statistics in his junior and senior season at Serra. He rolled up more than 1,700 yards receiving with 19 touchdowns and two more touchdowns on returns on defense his junior year. By his senior season Woods was a USA Today All-First team member and a Parade All-American among dozens of other accolades.

He chose to attend USC with fellow high school teammate Marqise Lee, where he took quickly to the college game. In his sophomore season he had 111 catches for almost 1,300 yards and 15 touchdowns in a 13-game season.

Throughout his college career, Woods paid tribute to his sister by drawing a giant letter ‘O’ on his wrist tape with a black marker. Such a gesture would get Woods fined in the NFL, so instead during pre-game warmups he kneels and says a prayer.

“I always run down to the corner of the field and say a prayer and do a little ‘O’ up,” said Woods touching the tip of his thumb and index finger together to shape the letter ‘O’. “I go out there and play for her and play for my family. Some plays I feel like she’s right there with me making those plays. I’ve always felt like that since high school where I say to myself, ‘Yeah my sister was with me on that one.’ So she’s had a big role and a big impact on my game.”

Woods still feels his sister’s presence and he and his parents still talk about Olivia.

“No matter what she’s always my sister,” he said. “Yes, she passed away, but I’ll always remember her and always acknowledge her. I think it does make them proud that I play for her and still acknowledge her when I play.”

“Robert is a person who needs to know exactly what he has to do,” said Mrs. Woods. “He wants to know where he needs to improve and what he can do differently to accomplish that. He aims to please and always wants to do the right thing to get better. I think that coaches recognize that in him.”

In addition to taking his NFL career to the next level, Woods is now three classes shy of getting his degree from USC in public policy development with a focus in real estate. Next offseason he’ll officially graduate.

“I think she’d be very proud of me just because I’m in a good position being here in the NFL, but it doesn’t last forever,” said Woods of his sister. “I’m still working to get my degree and finish what I started. I know Olivia wanted to go to college and wanted a college degree and everything, but just to finish up what I started would be something she always preached herself. If you start something, finish it.”

All part of being a role model.

Morata revealed he took advice from one of his new Chelsea team-mates who will be in Singapore to greet him. “I spoke with (Cesar) Azpilicueta and he told me everything is OK, and he found it easy,” said Morata.

“The Premier League is one of the best in the world, so I’m happy to be here.” Morata had looked set to join Manchester United before Jose Mourinho hijacked Chelsea’s interest in Romelu Lukaku, whic talk of Lampard blocking a new contract offer being made to Willian. But the manager says he’s yet to speak with his former teammate. He told chelseafc.com: “It does feel different, but in the short period I have been in charge it changes very quicklh resulted in the Blues moving for the 24-year-old.

Questioned on how close he came to moving to Old Trafford, Morata added: “I don’t know, the most important thing is I’m here playing for Chelsea. Finally I’m here.”

Morata’s move brings an end to a three-year wait to work with Conte, who signed him for Juventus in 2014 and failed in a bid to take him to Chelsea last summer.

Conte quit Juventus before the pair could work together, but the Spaniard has remained grateful for the faith Chelsea’s head coach has shown in him.

“I’m going to the team managed by the coach who has placed the most faith in me and that’s great for me,” said Morata. “I’m very happy.”

Speaking in April, Morata revealed the impact Conte had made on him by saying: “Conte is the manager who most ‘bet’ on me, without even ever having had me in his team.

“I’m very conscious of that. He bet on me for Juventus but left before I arrived, then he wanted me at Chelsea come what may. He knows me better than I could imagine, I’m sure, and that’s important. It motivates you to work hard, train well.

“I feel indebted to him because he’s the coach that most trusted in me, most wanted me,diola is delighted with the form of Rodri in preseason.Guardiola paid tribute to another impressive display from Rodri as City rounded off a successful Asia Tour with a fine 3-1 win over Yokohama F Marinos. “Yeah. Kevin (De Bruyne) made another great who made me feel I could perform at the highest level. And yet I’ve never had the fortune to actually work with him. I’m sure sooner or later I will.”

On the fact he almost joined Chelsea last summer, Morata added: “Various Premier League coaches called to tell me to play for them. I said yeah, I’d like to, that if I had to leave I would almost certainly go to London, but that I didn’t know what Madrid would do. I knew they’d bring me back, but I didn’t know if it was to keep me or sell me.

“I spoke directly to Mauricio Pochettino and Antonio Conte, although the norm is clubs call my dad or agent. Madrid said they didn’t want to sell. I remember talking to my dad then and him saying ‘This guy (Conte) is going to win the League there (in England).”

Real paid tribute to Morata ahead of his move to Chelsea by releasing a statement on their website that read: “The club wishes to express its thanks for the dedication, professionalism and exemplary conduct displayed by the player over the years, spanning his time in our academy right through to his spell as a member of the first-team squad.”

Another of Chelsea’s summer signings, central defender Antonio Rudiger, is also expected to join up with Conte’s squad in Singapore after complan Dijk says they’re unharmed from last season’s Premier League title heartbreak.Van Dijk believes that Liverpool’s Champions League success healed the scars of losing the Premier League title today’s opponents Manchester City on the final day.Heeting his post-Confederations Cup break.

Defensive end Chris Kelsay has said for years that he wanted to spend his entire playing career with the Buffalo Bills. On Wednesday he made sure that would be the case. After 10 years with the club Kelsay announced his retirement Wednesday.

“I want to thank Mr. Wilson for the opportunity he gave me 10 years ago to be a Buffalo Bill,” saisays Arsenal are confident of completing a loan deal for Ceballos – and beating Tottenham to a second summer signing.Gunners boss Unai Emery has targeted Ceballos to join Arsenal on a one-year loan deal to bolster his squad and become a much-needed ad Kelsay. “One of my goals was to finish my career with the team that drafted me and that came to fruition. Claudio Ranieri visits Leicester City training ground to say goodbye to players – but did they cost him his job?

content_img

data-js=”article-body” data-insert-mobile-adslot>

When asked if it had been an emotional meeting with his players, he insisted it had been "normal".

Ranieri guided the midlands club to a shock title last season .

Leicester have lost their last five league games and are yet to score in the top flight in 2017 ahead of Monday’s visit of Liverpool.

".

"After the euphoria of last season and being crowned Premier League champions all I dreamt of was staying with Leicester City, the club I love, for always.

"Sadly this was not to be. I wish to thank my wife Rosanna and all my family foo Fleetwood Town for the rest of the season.Connolly was with Lincoln City for the first half of the season, where he played 15 games. Now he will head to the League One club for the rest of the term.Connolly has only played one game for the Everton sr their never ending support during my time at Leicester.

"Mostly I have to thy targeted Dejan Lovren for their shock 3-0 defeat of champions-elect Liverpool. Two goals from Ismaila Sarr and one from Deeney, all three of which came in the second half, were enough to seal a famous victory for the Hornets, leaving Liverpool to reank Leicester City Football Club. The adventure was amazing and will live with me forever.

"Thank you to all the journalists and the media who came with us and enjoyed reporting on the greatest story in football."

Manchester United boss Jose Mourinho wore a shirt bearing Ranieri’s initials as a mark of respect at his Friday press conference.

Mourinho’s relationship with the Italian has been fraught, but he followed up an Instagram tribute to Ranieri with further warm words on Friday, and described his own sacking by Chelsea in December 2015 – again just months after winning a league title – as "peanuts" by comparison.

Speaking about the initialled shirt, Mourinho said: "It is my little homage to somebody that wrote the most beautiful history of the Premier League.

"Somebody that probably would deserve the Leicester stadium to be named ‘Claudio Ranieri’ – and he is sacked. So I think Leicester made history two years in a row."

Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp also compared the sacking Ranieri to Brexit and Donald Trump’s election as US president.

Reds boss Klopp said: "For me there have been a few strange decisions in 16/17: Brexit, Trump, Ranieri. Do I have to understand it all the time – obviously not. I have no idea why Leicester did this."

Antonio Conte also said he would struggle to accept it if it did turn out Leicester’s players effectively forced Ranieri out.

The Chelsea manager added: "It’s not rightrdiola insists the title race isn’t over after defeat at Liverpool on Sunday.Liverpool proved more clinical in front of goal, scoring twice inside the first 15 minutes to take an early stranglehold on the game. And although Bernardo Silva’s second hal that the players decide if a manager must be sacked or not. If this happened, it means that the club is poor, without power."

But Foxes caretaker boss Craig Shakespeare dismissed rumours of dressing-room unrest.

He said: "I’m not aware of any senior players going to the owners so that’s news to me. What I would say, there was a lot of frustration because of results but he hadn’t lost the dressing room."

The 39-year-old will pass his Uefa Pro Licence in time for the start of next season and has made it clear that his dream job would be to manage Arsenal.

Kroenke Jr sees no reason why Henry could not take a similar route straight to the top and will make sure the former striker is among the candidates to replace Wenger if Arsenal are forced into a change.

During lengthy discussions, Kroenke Jr is believed to have already picked the brains of Henry on a range of subjects – including his plans to move into management.

Henry worked at Arsenal coaching the youth players as part of gaining his Uefa A licence and was offered a job with the Under-18s by the club until Wenger decided he could not combine the role with his work as a Sky Television pundit.

Wenger’s current contract expires at the end of the season and he is yet to sign a new deal with fears mounting, following the latest dismal defeat to Liverpool, that he will step down in the summer.

The Top 10 Coldest games in Bills history

content_img

The summer weather isDeeney is back in light training. The attacker is going through rehabilitation following a knee injury. He had surgery two weeks ago and is already back at the club’s training ground, working back to full match fitness.”It’s my first proper day back an finally here for good in Western New York, but most Bills fans relish the times when frigid temperatures play a factor in a Sunday home game during the season. If you’re a transplanted Bills fan down south or out west and you need some relief from the recent heat gripping most of the country, hopefully the countdown of the coldest games in team history will cool you off a bit.

We compiled the 10 coldest contests in descending order. In the event of a tie temperature-wise we used the wind chill as a tiebreaker. Buffalonians are all too familiar with the term “real feel” when talking about how cold it is come the winter.

It was far from a star-studded matchup as Bills QB Bruce Mathison squared off against Steelers’ signal caller Scott Campbell. With snow flurries in the forecast, both teams got good performances on the ground.

Greg Bell’s 77-yard touchdown run opened the scoring and Buffalo would tack on two more touchdowns to stake Buffalo to a 21-0 first half lead. But the Steelers would outscore the Bills 30-3 the rest of the way en route to a 30-24 victory in Buffalo’s second straight 2-14 season.

Snow flurries convinced the Chiefs to keep their offense on the ground and they had great success against the Bills run defense rolling up over 240 yards rushing.

Bills wideout Frank Lewis had a huge day with 126 yards receiving on seven catches including a 40-yard touchdown, but Buffalo couldn’t make a slim 10-7 third quarter lead stand up.

Chiefs tight end Walter White pulled in a three-yard touchdown pass from Mike Livingston late in the third quarter for the game-winning points in a 14-10 final.

Fifteen mile per hour winds and snow didn’t seem to slow Minnesota’s offense very much at what was then called Rich Stadium. The Vikings, who would just miss advancing to the NFC Championship game that season, sprinted out to a commanding 21-0 lead in the first half.

Despite O.J. Simpson’s best efforts, which included a 24-yard touchdown run and a 64-yard touchdown catch late, Minnesota won going away way Xavi Simons has settled. The former Barcelona whizkid quit La Masia for Barca last month after turning 16.Roche said, “His way of being is different from what’s going on around him. He is simple in the relationship with his teammates, even if he 35-13.

The kickoff temperature of 19 was the high for the game as 22 mile per hour winds had the mercury dropping throughout the game, but Buffalo’s special teams was hot in this one.

Rookie big man Jason Peters blocked a Cincinnati punt late in the first quarter and recovered it in the end zone for a touchdown to break a 7-7 tie and Pro Bowl linebacker Takeo Spikes made his former team pay with a 62-yard interception return for a touchdown.

Rian Lindell rounded out the scoring with four second half field goals for a 33-17 drubbing of the Bengals.

Replacing injured starter Marshawn Lynch early in the second half, Fred Jackson had 113 all-purpose yards including an eight-yard touchdown run that proved to be the game winner in a 30-23 comeback win.

After falling behind early 13-0 Buffalo clawed their way back into the game thanks in part to a fumble recovery by Reggie Corner.

Late in the game an interception by Kawika Mitchell at the Bills one-yard line preserved a seven-point Bills lead with five minutes remaining. The Broncos still had a chance to win at the end as they rolled up over 500 yards of offense (532), but Corner broke up a 4th-and-5 five pass to the end zone from the Bills 15-yard line to cement the victory (30-23).

Ironically, the Bills were forced to spend Sunday night in Denver, as winter weather back home prevented them from traveling back to Buffalo after the game.

The Bills felt right at home in the blustery Meadowlands as Buffalo’s offense had it in cruise control and the defense had the hapless Jets stymied from start to finish.

Buffalo’s defense held the Jets to just 54 yards rushing with Cornelius Bennett and Bruce Smith both logging aez.The Sun says the Gunners have reportedly joined Inter Milan in the race for £25million-rated Perez .Napoli are also thought to be chasing the Spanish forward, 25, after netting a career best 12 Premier League goals this term.Arsenal boss Unai Eme pair of sacks. Bennett also had an interception.

Fullback Larry Kinnebrew had a big day with 91 yards rushing and a touchdown, with Thurman Thomas and Kenny Davis combining for another 106 rushing yards and two scores en route to a 37-0 whitewash of the Jets.

With the win Buffalo clinched the AFC East title.

It was the final regular season game of the 2009 season and the playoff-bound Colts weren’t going to play their starters for long. With the snow flying and Fred Jackson seeking his first career 1,000-yard rushing season, Indianapolis didn’t appear as though they wanted to be at the game in the first place.

Jackson rushed for a career-high 212 yards to eclipse the 1,000-yard plateau on the season, while Ryan Fitzpatrick threw three touchdowns passes.

Buffalo entered the game with the league’s worst ranked run defense, but held the Colts to just 25 yards on the ground and did not allow Indianapolis any further than the Bills 42-yard line in the second half in a 30-7 rout.

On a gray, windy day in Buffalo the rushing tandem of Rob Riddick and Thurman Thomas was too much for the Raiders. The pair combined for 150 of the team’s 255 rushing yards and three touchdowns vaulting the Bills to a 27-7 third quarter lead.

The Raiders could only close the gap to 14 points in the second half as Butch Rolle’s two-yard touchdown catch from Jim Kelly put the game out of reach in a 37-21 final. Buffalo locked up the AFC East title weeks before, their first since 1980.

It was a tightly contested back and forth game in the bitter cold of Orchard Park. Jim Kelly led a 10-play 71-yard drive to open the game that was capped by a two-yard Thurman Thomas touchdown run. The Jets answered with a touchdown drive of their own with a 24-yard TD pass from Boomer Esiason to Johnny Johnson to tie it late in the first quarter (7-7).

From there three Buffalo turnovers helped keep the game close for New York as they posted a pair of interceptions and a fumble recovery. Former Bills receiver Chris Burkett gave the Jets their only lead of the game in the third quarter on a six-yard touchdown catch from Esiason (14-13).

Steve Christie’s third field goal of the day however, would prove to be the winning points as he hit from 40 yards away with 3:48 left. Cary Blanchard had a shot to win it for the Jets with under a minute to play, but missed a 42-yard attempt to give the Bills a 16-14 victory and their fifth AFC East title in six years.

The AFC Divisional playoff certainly appeared to represent a home field advantage for the Bills as bone chilling temperatures had Rich Stadium in a frigid grip. The Raiders however, jumped out to a 17-6 lead at the two-minute warning of the first half thanks in large part to a pair of Napolean Kaufman touchdowns runs.

Buffalo was able to close the gap before halftime staging a four-play 76-yard drive capped by a Thurman Thomas 8-yard scoring run to make it 17-13.

From there Jim Kelly took over as the Bills lost both Pete Metzelaars (dislocated finger) and Thomas (concussion) in the third quarter. The Hall of Famer, who was 27-37 for 287 yards, spread the ball around in the second half with Bills Brooks as his main target. Brooks made six catches for 96 yards and a pair of touchdowns including the game winner with 12:08 left to send the Bills to their fourth straight AFC Championship game with a 29-23 win.

UCF vs. South Florida odds: 2019 War on I-4 picks, top predictions from proven computer model

content_img

The look to build momentum towards the postseason when they meet the in the 11th edition of the War on I-4 rivalry game. The Bulls (4-7), who are fourth in the American Athletic Conference East Division at 2-5, are 2-2 on the road, while the Knights (8-3), second in the AAC East at 5-2, are 5-0 at home this season. Friday’s game is scheduled to start at 8 p.m. ET from Spectrum Stadium in Orlando, Fla. UCF has won two of its last three games against South Florida at Orlando. The Knights are favored by 23.5-points in the latest South Florida vs. UCF odds, while the over-under for total points scored is 61.5. You’ll want to see the predictions from the SportsLine Projection Model before laying any South Florida vs. UCF picks down.

The SportsLine Projection Model simulates every FBS college fo president Jean Michel Aulas has revealed Karim Benzema turned down a bigger offer from Manchester United to sign for Real Madrid.Benzema moved to Real ten years ago, having also been courted by former United manager Sir Alex Ferguson.Aulas recalled:otball game 10,000 times, and those who have followed it have seen huge returns since its inception. Over the past four-plus years, the draw from his time with Everton. The former Ajax captain had a year at Goodison Park before leaving for Werder. He told Spox: “It also had something positive, because otherwise I would not be with Werder Bremen now. Moreover, I had no clear plan, beproprietary computer model has generated a stunning profit of almost $4,000 for $100 players on its top-rated  against the spread. Anyone who has followed it over that time is way up and consistently beaten .

Now, the model has set its sights on . We can tell you that the model is leaning under, and has generated an extremely strong against the spread pick that is hitting in 70 percent of simulations. You can . Now, here are the betting lines and trends for South Florida vs. Central Florida:

South Florida vs. Central Florida: UCF -23.5South Florida vs. Central Florida over-under: 61.5 pointsSouth Florida vs. Central Florida money line: South Florida +1048, Central Florida -2423USF: South Florida leads the all-time series 6-4UCF: Central Florida is averaging 43.8 points per game

The model has taken into account that UCF is one of the best offensive teams in the nation over the past three seasons. Prior to the 27-24 loss at , the Knights had scored 30 or more points in 31 consecutaka and Dan James to be fit for Sunday’s derby against Manchester City.Maguire missed Thursday’s FA Cup win at Derby County after twisting his ankle in training, but manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is hopeful the United skipper will recover in time to five games, which is the longest streak in The Associated Press poll era, which began in 1936. Since the loss to the Bearcats, UCF has scored 30 or more points in each of its last five games.

Defensively, the Knights are led by senior linebacker , who has a team-high 92 tackles, including 56 solo, with three passes defensed. He is on pace to surpass his total from a year ago, when he made 99 tackles – 55 solo – with 2.5 sacks, one forced fumble and four passes defensed.

But just because the Knights can put up a lot of points does not guarantee they will cover the South Florida vs. Central Florida spread on Friday.

That’s because the Bulls are used to success, having had 13 winning seasons since 2000. Under third-year coach Charlie Strong, South Florida is 21-15. Sophomore linebacker has been a disruptive force all season, posting a tackle for loss in eight of his last 10 games, including a team-high three at earlier in the year. He leads the team with 12.5 tackles for loss and is second with three sacks.

Freshman quarterback has carried the Bulls’ offense this season with starts in each of the last nine games. He has completed 115-of-203 attempts for 1,313 yards and 12 touchdowns. He has also rushed 93 times for 245 yards and four scores. South Florida is 4-0 against the spread in its last four games following an against-the-spread loss.

Auburn vs. Mississippi State: Live stream, watch online, TV channel, kickoff time, odds, pick, prediction

content_img

No. 7  is coming  off a big road win at Texas A&M and will be looking to keep the momsays Rangers and Roma have enquired about taking Phil Foden on loan. The City youngster has been the centre of attention in Glasgow and Rome ahead of the closing of the transfer window.Foden, one of the bright sparks of England’s otherwise disappointientum going Saturday night when the roll into town in a key SEC West battle. The Tigers defense was flat out nasty against the Aggies and only gave up just 2.7 yards per rushing attempt. That, coupled with the fast start from the offense, helped them build a big lead before alla defender Gabriel Paulista is on his radar.Gabriel is set to gain Spanish nationality in the near future and Enrique has revealed that the Valencia centre-back is among his options for La Roja’s defence.”I am aware of every player who could be calleowing a few late touchdowns to make it interesting on the scoreboard. The Bulldogs rebounded from the loss to Kansas State two weeks ago with a resounding win over Kentucky in Starkville, Mississippi, last weekend.

If Auburn is to keep its hopes of reaching the SEC and national title games alive, they will need to win tough conferences test like this down the stretch. The Bulldogs, meanwhile, could play spoiler in one of the deepest conferences in football once again.

What will happen Saturday night on The Plains? Let’s break down the game and make picks straight up and against the spread.

Storylines

It’s safe to say that the Tigers’ defensive front is one of the best in the nation, and will keep them in every game they play. Because of that, and the rest of the rushing attack has been the centerpiece of an offense that is still building with true freshman taking the snaps. Nix is 13th in the SEC in passing with 161.3 yards per game, and coach Gus Malzahn has essentially ignored short and intermediate routes over the middle despite those typically being a big part of an RPO-based offense. The Bulldogs have given up 143.2 yards per game on the ground, which means that you’ll probably see more of the same attack from Malzahn.

Quarterback ‘ status is still in doubt heading into the matchup. What isn’t in doubt is that his backup Garrett Shrader was pretty solid in his first start last week when he completed 77.3% of his passes. Why was he so efficient? Because running back is an absolute monster. The junior has topped the 100-yard mark on the ground in all four games this season, ripped off 120 yards and three touchdowns last weekend and leads the nation with 20 rushing plays of 10 or more yards. The problem for the Bulldogs is that they’ve given up 4.5 yards per rushing attempt — 12th in the SEC.

Game prediction, picks

Auburn’s philosophy is simple — run the ball, play defense and pick spots for Nix to open things up just enough in the passing game to keep opposing teams honest. The same plan will work on Saturday night. Whitlow will wear down a Bulldogs defense thak-four has given his side more freedom. The Magpies blew West Bromwich Albion away by scoring three goals in the first-half of their FA Cup fifth-round tie on Tuesday. And Bruce thinks moving from a back-five has freed up his attacking players. He said:t lacks depth, allow Nix to work off play-action and lead the Tigers to an ugly, yet efficient win and cover. It might be sketchy deep into the second half, but the Tigers are just too much for these Bulldogs.

What makes going to a Texas college football game in Austin a unique game-day experience

content_img

If there is one thing Texans are known to be passionate about it’s college football. They say everything is bigger in  and that includes the football fandom and the love for the the Longhorns. Going to a UT game means being witness to some of the most enthusiastic fans in .

Decked out in burnt orange, the fans flood into 100,119-seat Darrell K Royal-Texas Memorial Stadium in Austin, Texas, to cheer on their Longhorns. One major element that separates attending a game over watching it on television is being able to participate in singing the “The Eyes of Texas”, the school’s spirit song.

The fans also participate in a call and response that rumbles through the stadium where one side of the crowd chants “Texas” and the other yells back “fight.” Cowboy hats and the iconic “Hook Em” hand symbol are seen everywhere in the crowd of excited game-goers.

In true Texas fashion, Bevo, a real life Texas longhorn steer, makes his way onto the field in front of the electhrough at Barcelona. The winger has been a big revelation this season and admits he had lucrative offers to leave Barca at 16.Perez told Radio Catalunya: “There are people who are guided more by money, I respect all decisions, but I always say that Itric crowd each game. The profile of the animal’s head is where the hand symbol and “Hook ’em Horns” saying comes from.

When their live mascot is absent their other mascot “Hook ‘Em” named very appropriately for the team, can be found around the stadium encouraging fans to show off their Texas pride.

Austin is a city rich with music, good food and of course, footbalardi is successfully rebuilding his relationship with the Inter Milan locker room, it has been revealed. The striker angered many senior teammates over the way he refused to take part in training for over a month after being sacked as captain in Februl. Boston College vs. Kansas odds, predictions: 2019 college football picks from model on 18-6 run

content_img

It’s the Big 12 against the ACC on Friday night as the head east to face the . The nationally televised non-conference matchup kicks off at 7:30 p.m. ET. Boston College (2-0) rolled to a 35-28 opening week win over . Meanwhile, Kansas (1-1) is coming off an eye-opening 12-7 loss to , but improvement is expected under new head coach Les Miles, who guided to a national title in 2007. Against the spread, the Eagles are 20-point favorites in the current Boston College vs. Kansas odds, down from an open of 21, with the over-under set at 51. These teams have never met and each had to replace more than half its starting lineup to begin the season, so before locking in any Kansas vs. Boston College picks and predictions, you need to see the results from the SportsLine Projection Model.

The model simulates every FBS game 10,000 times, and those who have followed it have seen massive returns. Over the past four years, this proprietary computer model has generated a jaw-dropping $4,530 profit for $100 bettors on its top-rated spread picks.

The model enters Week 3 of the 2019 college football season on a blistering 18-6 run on its top-rated picks. It also called (+158) straight-up upset of and was all over (+23) against No. 10 in a game the Black Knights pushed to overtime and covered with a ton of room to spare. Anybody who has been following it is way up.

Now, it has set its sights on Boston College vs. Kansas. We can tell you the model is leaning under, but it also says one side of the spread hits in over 50 percent of simulations. That pick is available over at SportsLine.

The model knows quarterback and the Eagles have lit up oppadrid.Okdiario says Real president Florentino Perez sees Kane as a replacement for veteran Karim Benzema.Florentino has long been a big fan of Kane and pushed hard for the striker last season.Just last Friday, Spurs boss Mauricio Pochettino recogniseosing defenses so far, scoring 35 and 45 points in their two victories. And he’s not afraid to go downfield, averaging a whopping 19 yards per completion. He faces an inexperienced Kansas defense that is breaking in a new 3-4 scheme. Last season, Kansas gave up at least 48 points three times.

Boston College had its best season at home in a while last year, going 5-2. Kansas, meanwhile, has won just one road game since 2009 and covered the spread only 16 times in its last 53 road games. The Jayhawks have lost 18 of their last 22 road openers.

But just because the Eagles are humming and favored Friday doesn’t mean they’ll cover the Boston College vs. Kansas spread.

Kansas’ offense remains a work in progress, though the run game got it done on Saturday against Coastal Carolina. Pooka Williams, who last year rushed for 1,125 yards and seven touchdowns, gained 99 yards, while added 82. On Friday, the model says the pair will combine for 130 yards on the ground and over five senal job.Guardiola said he would not object to Arteta taking the Arsenal manager’s job should the Gunners decide to turn to their former player to succeed Unai Emery, who was dismissed on Friday morning.”I said many times with my players, staff, theyards per carry.

The Jayhawks’ defense has been a strengr factor.Arsenal are the visitors to Old Trafford on Monday night. And Fowler wrote for the Mirror: “The fear factor has been leaking away from Old Trafford for several years now – but now it has vanished entirely.”That is a huge problem for Oleth so far, allowing just 12 points per game and a scant 151 yards passing per game. B.C. likes to throw the ball, but its quarterback has completed only 57 percent of his passes.

Booze, transfers among eight discussion points at the 2019 SEC spring meetings

content_img

On a spit of white sand beach, the SEC will decide the current and future state of the league. In other words, it’s time for the annual spring meetings in Destin, Florida.

The league conducts these meetings at resort on the Florida Panhandle with a view of the Gulf of Mexico. Those meetings begin formally on Tuesday with an ocean breeze and a full agenda. Focus, boys and girls, paradise can wait until the end of business hours.

Here are eight things you should keep an eye on as the SEC spring meetings go down this week in Destin.

Hard liners gasped a little when the NCAA, two weeks ago, . The moving target that is amateurism will be a key discussion point in Destin. The basic argument is whether student-athletes — like their Olympic counterparts — can profit from their basic sense of self.

The Olympics decided 30 years ago that its athletes could still be considered amateurs despite allowing them to do commercials. Those ratings-grabbing figure skaters, gymnasts and skiers didn’t turn off a soul because they appeared in an airline commercial.

What does that look like in the college space? Think of Tua Tagovailoa doing a local car commercial or DeAndre Swift getting a little somethin’, somethin’ for his autograph. You’d better believe the SEC will begin significant discussions on what it all means. This is a league that lost its collective mind in 2015 when cost of attendance was implemented. Back then, the concern was, God forbid, Auburn players get $100 more per month than their Alabama counterparts — or vice versa.

will no doubt hang over the meetings. Bramblett and his wife were killed in a car accident over the weekend, leaving a school and a conference in mourning. Bramblett had been the football “Voice of the Tigers” since 2003. He leaves behind two wonderful children, Shelby and Joshua. There have been many great voices of SEC football. Their shared contribution is to those who have no other way to follow their teams except through those unique voices. We should never forget Bramblett’s famous call of the Pick Six.

The SEC West is apparently the place to be for administrators, too. Scott Woodward and Ross Bjork will be at their first SEC meetings since changing jobs within the West Division. Woodward, a New Orleans native, came “home” to LSU from Texas A&M. On Friday, Bjork left Ole Miss — where he had been for eight years — to take the opening at TAMU. For those of you scoring at home, that leaves the latest SEC West opening at Ole Miss.

If it’s all about money — and frequently it is all about money — the SEC has some work to do. The Big Ten earlier this month announced a 48 percent increase in revenue, making the Larter City to “achieve something fantastic”.The Foxes, who were surprise champions under Claudio Ranieri in 2015-16, are third with Brendan Rodgers in charge.”Leicester have a spine of the team that is experienced – in Jonny Evans, Jamie Vardy and Kaspge 14 the richest conference in history — by far. This means a lot to the SEC, if only from a pride standpoint. The two leagues have separated themselves from the rest of college sports in terms of money … and championships. The leagues have combined for 10 of the last 13 football national titles. (OK, the SEC has nine of those.)

It was 10 years ago that Nick Saban won his first national championship at Alabama. That started a run of five titles in a decade. Is 2019, will it be a continuation of the same, or was the Clemson game a sign of things to come?

Among coaches, the 7-month-old . It isn’t going away, but that won’t stop the league’s coaches from weighing in. A couple of years ago, anticipating more transfer freedom, Saban said, “Am I going to have to change the way I coach?” The answer is the same for all coaches: Yeah, maybe. At least check 106 SEC football players had put their name in the portal. That’s an average of more than 7.5 per school.

Schools long ago began serving alcohol at sporting events nationwide. The total now stands at approximately 55 FBS schools that serve alcohol at games. The SEC remains an outlier. It is the only major conference that has a policy against alcohol sales to the general public. Social mores have loosened. The NCAA now allows drinkage at its championship events. The SEC — in the heart of the Bible Belt — has been slow to change, but truths have emerged.

Alcohol is a significant revenue source that can be controlled. Former West Virginia AD Oliver Luck proved it when he argued that limiting beer and wine inside the stadium (two drinks per visit) were better than fans binge-drinking at halftime. The West Virginia model is 8 years old. (Security officials actually used to have a “Code Vomit” to identify out-of-control drinking in the stands before it was regulated.)  The SEC’s no-booze policy dates back to at least 1978, according to Sports Illustrated. There will be significant discussion this week in Destin about opening up the spigots. Time for a toast?

, the SEC continued its image makeover. If nothinproblems between Lionel Messi and Antoine Griezmann. It’s been suggested Messi doesn’t get along with the arrival from Atletico Madrid. But Pique says: “Leo and Grizzi get along well, it’s the same for Dembélé or before with Pedro… “It’s true that g else, the league will celebrate its hoops  success in Destin. Having one-quarter of the Sweet 16 hadn’t happened in the SEC in 22 years. Auburn made a Cinderella run to the Final Four.

The general upgrade in basketball fortunes means more pressure to win. Six of the 14 SEC schools have changed coaches in the last two seasons — four in the last couple of months. Alabama snagged up-and-comer Nate Oates from Buffalo. Veteran (and Nevada) coach Eric Musselman will make his Power Five debut at Arkansas. Buzz Williams left Virginia Tech for Texas A&M. Jerry Stackhouse takes over at Vanderbilt after the surprising firing of Bryce Drew.

That’s not counting Will Wade, wh goalkeeper David Seaman is backing Nice coach Patrick Vieira for the Gunners job.Arsenal are starting their search for a new manager for only the second time in 23 years after sacking Unai Emery. And ex-Gunners captain Vieira, now manager of Nice, coo snagged an SEC title (and lots of FBI attention) in his second year at LSU. Kentucky remains the team to beat, but it definitely has some competition.

College Football Power Rankings: Alabama keeps rolling along as five new teams enter the fray

content_img

Suddenly, we’re one-third of the way through the 2018 college football season. What do we know for sure already? Plenty, we think. Let’s take a quick look.

Alabama is so dominant that Nick Saban is pleading with the press not to compliment his team so much: “I would sort of appreciate it if you would … sort of look atRonaldinho and Deco during his time at the club.He played just 36 games during his four-year spell with the club, though was part of Pep Guardiola’s squad during the 2008/09 campaign before going on loan to Stuttgart, Birmingham City and Wolfsburg.Ho some of the things we didn’t do well,” he said after a 22-point win over Texas A&M.

Kentucky is worth watching. The Wildcats make their Power Rankings debut after a 28-7 win over Mississippi State. Give me Benny Snell Jr.’s ability and personality anytime. It is one of five new entries in this week’s top 25 of the Power Rankings.

All is not lost in the Pac-12. Stanford is the conference’s top team, solidly in the top 10 and has a quarterback in K.J. Costello to go along with quick-strike tailback Bryce Love.

Notre Dame has introduced itself as more than a fringe Playoff contender because of a dynamic quarterback named Ian Book. What is it about Brian Kelly not finding the right No. 1 guy at the beginning of the season? ()

The CFP Selection Committee already has something to think about. Let’s say it’s a choice between Oklahoma and … anybody. The Sooners fell into the trap of chasing Army’s option all over the field. It almost cost the Sooners in a 28-21 overtime win that avoided one of college football’s biggest upsets in years.

We are set up for our first Big Ten mega-matchup of the season: Ohio State at Penn State. The winner has the inside track in the Big Ten East … and a playoff berth.

Yup, even one-third of the way into the season.

Let’s take a look at the latest Power Rankings.

1 For the first time this season, Bama failed to score 50 points. Texas A&M had the audacity to hang around until the second quarter. Anybody out there in Bama Nation panicking? Didn’t think so. You may have missed the fact Alabama will be a double-digit favorite against every remaining opponent. –11-2 2 It never rains in Tiger Stadium, but sometimes things don’t go as planned. Louisiana Tech made a surprising run after being down 24-0. LSU committed its first turnover of the season (Joe Burrow interception) and Ed Orgeron grumbled. “Obviously, we’re not happy,” Coach O said of a 17-point win over the Bulldogs. Up next: An interesting SEC West battle with Ole Miss. –15-0 3 The Return of Urban Meyer looked a lot like Ryan Day never left. The Buckeyes slammed Tulane in a tune-up for a season-defining trip to Penn State. Just don’t let me hear anything about “redemption” for the sitting coach. The Athletic reported Saturday a plan is forming to make Day the coach-in-waiting. 113-1 4 Trevor Lawrence seems to have become the starting quarterback without starting. That was the takeaway from a four-touchdown win over Georgia Tech. Lawrence came off the bench to complete 13 of 18 for 173 yards. But you can’t just put Kelly Bryant on the bench … can you? 114-1 5 The Dawgs are vulnerable to the run! That’s one way of looking at it after a two-touchdown win at Missouri. Here’s another: Georgia already has four non-offensive touchdowns this season. –12-2 6 The Tigers don’t play a true road game until Oct. 6 at Mississippi State. They’d better take care of business. An unremarkable win over an unremarkable team (34-3 over Arkansas) keeps the Tigers in the SEC West hunt. 19-4 7 The Cardinal may have just become the Pac-12’s best playoff hope. A stunning comeback at Oregon made it so. After Justin Herbert missed on only two throws in regulation, the Stanford D forced him into five incompletions in overtime. 24-8 8 Looks like Brian Kelly has himself a quarterback. Ian Book threw for 325 yards in a rout of Wake Forest. Irish are suddenly back in the playoff race with Stanford coming up. –11-2 9 Did OU really run only 40 plays? Did Army almost beat its first top five team in 55 years? Yes to both. The Sooners just weren’t ready for the Black Knights’ clock-eating option. That’s why OU gets nicked here moving down three spots. 312-2 10 In a somewhat easy win over Kansas State, Bill Snyder may have provided the quote of the day: “I can’t coach a team that can’t get six inches on a play.” Sure the Wildcats failed in a first-half, fourth-down gamble, but that wasn’t the main reason the Mountaineers dominated 35-6. –5-der Paul Pogba this summer.Tuttosport says Juventus are determined to land a reunion with the player they sold to United for £89milSG star Neymar.Jesus scored a hat trick against Dinamo Zagreb in the Champions League yesterday. His goals got the Blues all three points in the fixture. And it means he is the fastest Brazilian to reach 10 Champions League goals, surpassing the mark slion back in 2016. Pogba has played a bit-part role at United this season due to troubles with injury but remains one 7 11 Hey, here’s a new one. Jake Browning was steady in a 27-20 win over Arizona State. Browning became the second Huskies quarterback in history to top 10,000 career passing yards in a 27-20 win over Arizona State. Linebacker Ben Burr-Kiven had 20 tackles. –8-5 12 I’ll say it again: The Knights can play with anyone in the country. The offense under McKenzie Milton is explosive. FAU couldn’t keep up in a 56-36 loss. The Knights are one of nine teams to average at least 50 points this season. Power Five chance this week with Pittsburgh coming in. 210-3 13 Goodness, that was a boat race in the second half Friday at Illinois — 32 total plays on six possessions produced 291 yards and six touchdowns. Nice message to send the Buckeyes. 211-2 14 The N’Kosi Perry era may have begun. The celebrated redshirt freshman threw for 224 yards in place of Malik Rosier. Miami beat FIU, and now Mark Richt says he has a decision to make at quarterback before Thursday’s game with North Carolina. 46-7 15 Go ahead and celebrate, Kentucky. The Wildcats are 2-0 in the SEC for the first time since 1977. A shutdown of Mississippi State sends a message for athletic directors everywhere: Patience. Mark Stoops may be turning the corner in Year 6. NR8-5 16 All that nostalgia from 1997? Forget it. Any similarity between Nebraska and its last national championship is an LSD-induced flashback. Michigan sent the Huskers to their first 0-3 start since 1945. 39-4 17 What would you expect of the Badgers after the BYU bummer? A workmanlike 28-17 win at Iowa seemed about right. Alex Hornibrook rebounded nicely completing 17 of 22 for 205 yards and three touchdowns. The Badgers continue to control their destiny in the Big Ten West. 610-4 18 Are the Longhorns back? Yes! Back in the polls, at least. Tom Herman’s biggest win since becoming Texas coach (over TCU) will have reverberations around the Big 12. One of them: The Texas-Oklahoma game on Oct. 6 just became a lot sexier. NR8-5 19 The Ducks may never forget this one. Up 24-7 at home, they watched Stanford methodically claw back to win in overtime 38-31. Bad clock management and questionable play calling allowed Stanford to tie it in regulation. 312-2 20 A tune-up win against McNeese State went about as expected. A visit to Washington is next. Kalani Sitake got an opportunity to empty the bench a bit on Saturday. NR7-6 21 The rain, the Wildcats and Benny Snell. In less-than-ideal conditions the Bulldogs were exposed at Kentucky. Snell, the SEC’s leading rusher, ran for four touchdowns, including two in the fourth quarter, to seal the upset. 46-7 22 Bye. Sorry, you don’t play, you’re at the mercy of being moved around Buffaloes. Down two spots this week. CU hosts UCLA on Friday. 25-7 23 As much as the world likes to unload on Kliff Kingsbury’s defensive sensibilities, the win at Oklahoma State was one of the biggest of his career. The Cowboys were shut out in the second half at home in a 24-point loss. The Red Raiders (3-1) are undefeated under freshman QB Anthony Bowman. Their only loss is to Ole Miss. NR4-8 24 Pick up the pieces and get ready for Kansas. The 24-point loss to Texas Tech was Mike Gundy’s worst (by margin) since the 2016 Sugar Bowl loss to Ole Miss. 118-5 25 The Aztecs have one of the most physical teams in the nation. Without its starting quarterback and after blowing a two-touchdown lead at home, SDSU beat a stubborn Eastern Michigan in overtime. NR10-3

Out: Virginia Tech, TCU, Texas A&M, Arizona State, Boise State

Pick Six: Bowl season kicks into full gear with a busy slate of games to choose from

We’re through the warm-up period of bowl season. No more of this one game a day stuff. We’re approaching the full-blown “ignore your responsibilities and family” portion of bowl season. The time when there are multiple games on just about every day.

It’s the best time of year, and it’s made even better when you’re making money during it. Luckily for you, I’m here to help make sure that happens, so let’s get to it.

Games of the Week

: They say a man would have to be insane to take an under in the Bahamas Bowl. Ladies and gentlemen, I’m that whack job. I assure you that there’s a method to my madness, however. You see, Ohio has an efficient offense, but it’s not one I’d consider explosive. Plus, it’s strength is running the ball, and that always helps to chew up precious seconds when you need an under.

As for the UAB offense, it’s not great. Sure, it’s terrific that the Blazers are going to a bowl game in their first year back as a program, but UAB’s offense doesn’t light the world on fire. Using S&P+, its rushing offense ranks 82nd in the country while its passing attack is 107th. When it comes to explosiveness, UAB ranks 114th. So I can’t help but believe that total is a wee bit too high here. You know, as long as we can avoid a unt and Fikayo Tomori believe their confident starts to their Chelsea first team journeys is down to Frank Lampard. Both youngsters have stepped into the Blues first team and not looked out of place for a minute. The duo, who were on loan at Derby withtriple-overtime mind-melter, and since it’s the Bahamas Bowl, it’s a real possibility.

: Listen, I might be crazy enough to take an under in the Bahamas Bowl, but I’m not foolish enough to take one in this game. Instead, I’m going to go with the obvious answer in a game that’s likely going to come down to whichever team has the ball last.

South Florida leads the AAC in points allowed this year, giving up only 22.5 points per game. That number is very misleading, though. Against teams with winning records, the Bulls defense has allowed 38.5 points per game while Texas Tech is allowing 31.8 points per game. There are going to be touchdowns, and a lot of them.

Fun fact for you about San Diego State coach Rocky Long. Since he took over the program, the Aztecs have played 12 games against teams that run an option attack. Long has gone 11-1 in those games, winning by an average of 12.8 points per game. The one loss — which came to in the 2014 Poinsettia Bowl — came by a point.

San Diego State has played two options teams this season, beating 28-24 and 35-10. The Falcons and Lobos averaged 3.21 yards per carry against an Aztecs defense that ranks 37th against the run using S&P+ this season, and Army cannot throw the football. Do you get what I’m saying yet?

: I can picture it now. It’s Christmas Eve, and you’re surrounded by family and friends, growing frustrated because they keep trying to talk to you while you’re watching the Hawaii Bowl. Can’t they see you’re sweating an under? Don’t they realize that this third-and-three ae Belgium fullback has declared he expects to leave this summer – and L’Equipe says PSG management have now obliged by naming their price to sell.PSG are seeking €25m for Meunier, with Manchester United and Everton keen.Just recently, Meunier, who t midfield is the most crucial play of the game?

Well, fear not, because I’m quite confident about the under here. Neither team has what I’d consnchester United boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer expects more additions before next week’s Premier League transfer deadline.United have agreed a fee with Leicester for England centre-back Harry Maguire. Solskjaer told PA: “We’re still hope one or two deals ider to be a potent offense, and current forecasts show that there will be 14+mph winds during this game. If you’ve read this column before, then you know how high winds and unders go together like Christmas and capitalism.

: I do fear that this could be a scenario in which Bill Snyder tells his team before the game that he’s retiring, and then they go out and play the game of their lives for their coach. I just can’t rely on that happening. What I can count on is that UCLA is the far more talented team in this matchup and that I believe the Bruins are being undervalued here. Now, I also know that I’m betting on UCLA, but I don’t think it’s a stupid decision now that Jim Mora is no longer coaching the team.

And, yes, I would like this even if  isn’t playing in the game. It’s equal parts roster talent and fading the public.

: I bet you’re surprised to see that I didn’t take the under in this game. Now, if that’s the direction you want to go here, I don’t blame you, but it’s just too popular an option for me. Instead, I’d rather take advantage of an Iowa team that’s being underestimated.

I’m not saying the Hawkeyes are much better than Boston College, but 2.5 points just seems small. Neither team has a great offense, but Iowa’s better defensively. So I expect a lower-scoring affair, but one the Hawkeyes will win.
