The Bills pro and college scouting departments are filling up quickly. On Thursday the team announced the hiring of Marvin Allen and Brian Adams as National Scouts.

“Both men are veterans in this league. They’ve been in it for a long time,” said Bills GM Brandon Beane. “It’s the same thing as players, we want to grow and develop. These are two guys who will be over the younger scouts and be part of helping us grow and develop our scouting staff. You just can’t replace their time and accomplishments in the league.”

Allen has spent the last four years as the Director of College Scohis style of play. The now retired Bulgarian was always a polarising figure among fans of the club, as some felt his style was too lazy compared to forwards Carlos Tevez and Wayne Rooney. But Berbatov considers himself “an artist on the pitch” and had uting for the Kansas City Chiefs. A 24-year veteran in NFL scouting, he also spent five years scouting for the Atlanta Falcons, serving as a National Scout after a few years as a regional scout.

The early part of his career was spent with the New England Patriots where he served as an area scout ed with Barcelona.Griezmann finally completed his long-awaited move from Atlético de Madrid to Camp Nou on Friday having seemed set to join Barça last year before opting to stay put. “Marvin started in the 90’s. He’s most recently been a college (scouting) director so he’s sat in that seat,” Beane said. “He’s going to be a great resource not only for me, but for all our college scouts.”

Allen also had a four-year NFL career as a running back with the PatJody Morris said Chelsea need to address their home form ahead of their third round FA Cup tie with Nottingham Forest on Sunday. With Tribalfootball.com in attendance, Frank Lampard’s assistant was standing in for the pre-match press conference and sariots, who made him an 11th-round pick in the 1988 NFL draft.

Pep Guardiola to explain yellow ribbon stance in letter to the FA

content_img

data-js=”article-body” data-insert-mobile-adslot>

In 2016, Fifa had ruled that poppies on shirts contravened its rules on political symbols but the FA defied the regulation with England’s players wearing poppies for an international against Scotland close to Remembrance Day in November that year and later secured a new ruling from Fifa to permit poppies.

Guardiola could also consider arguing that his was unwitting. The ribbon had been concealed under a bomber jacket he was wearing during the first half at the DW Stadium last Monday but Guardiola ended up unzipping the jacket in the second half, leaving the symbol clearly visible. Guardiola had clashed with Wigan manager Paul Cook at the end of the first half after City defender Fabian Delph’s red card.

Guardiola elected to wear the ribbon on his jumper during City’s Carabao Cup final win over Arsenal on Sunday although it was mostly concealed during the game by a coat and scarf. The Catalan is free to wear the ribbon before and after matches and during pressWolves striker Rafa Mir is attracting fresh Spanish interest.El Periodico de Aragón says Wolves striker Mir is wanted by Real Zaragoza.Mir spent last season on loan at Las Palmas. He’s due to go back to Wolves – and is also being linked with Hull City.Wolves boss Nuno is expected to take a close look at Mir in preseason before making a final decision. conferences.

Some City fans wore ribbons in support of Guardiola on Sundanited .Although City have no chance of catching runaway leaders Liverpool , their top-four status is assured, with Guardiola’s side holding a 15-point lead over fifth-placed United.”When we believe it’s more important for them, we’re going to lose,” y and the manager thanked them for that. “The feeling to belong to something, I am really grateful for that initiative,” he said.

“They don’t have to do it. It is another country, yet they did that. That makes me really happy because that makes people understand the situation, what is going on, people in prison in Spain so 100 per cent grateful to them.”

City face Arsenal in the Premier League tomorrow with Guardiola insisting the league is the priority over the Champions League. City are 13 points clear of Manchester United with 11 fixtures to play.

“We are fighting for the most important title of the season by far, the Premier League, more than Champions League, more important than the FA Cup, Carabao Cup. That is enough encouragement to be focused,” he said.

“The next six fixtures are terrible in terms of quality of the opponents, and we have four games away and we still have to win six games. When you think about Arsenal, you think about Chelsea, Tottenham and Arsenal and our away games, Stoke City playing for relegation, going to Goodison Park is always a tough game. We have a lot of tough games still to play and have to remain focused.

“The league is always the most difficult, a game every three days. It shows how good you are over 11 months. All the titles I have won, La Liga, Bundesliga, the league is the most difficult. In the Carabao Cup we won two penalty rounds, Bravo saved them or you could be out. That is a toss of a coin, sometimes good, sometimes bad. The league is conso Everton did not happen over the summer.Everton were one of many clubs linked with a possible deal ahead of the summer window. He told HLN: “There was interest and there have been conversations, but it never came to a point where I had to decide: Do istency, the players know that. They know exactly how important the league is for this club, for our futures. Of course we have to be focused, we know how tough it will be until the end of the season.”

Meanwhile, it was revealed today that Guardiola gave a short speech as part of a champagne toast at Manchester City’s training ground on Wednesday afternoon in which he thanked staff for the part they played in helping to win the first trophy of his managerial reign at the club.

Guardiola addressed scores of staff in City’s canteen at their CFA headquarters in the wake of Sunday’s Carabao Cup triumph over Arsenal by telling them, “Thank you to everyone for helping us win”.

The City manager concluded his speech by telling the assembled employees that the team would do everything to ensure they now delivered “the most important title”, the Premier League. City currently lead Manchester United by 13 points with 11 games remaining.

Guardiola’s address was followed by a speech from Omar Berrada, City’s chief operating officer, and a champagne toast. The League Cup was also brought into the canteen for staff to see and have their picture taken with.

5 things we learned about the offense

content_img

It’s only been seven games, but the offense underwent a lot of change this past offseason. Change in scheme, change in offensive coordinator, change in quarterback and at a host of other positions. So what have we learned about Buffalo’s offense through the first seven games? Here are some of the more important revelations.

We’ve only seen him ztof Piatek admits he wants a move to England. The Poland international has been linked with Tottenham and Manchester United this week. And his father Vladislav said: “He knows what he wants: to play as much as possible and to impress at the European Cplay five games, but his most recent performance proved that Tyrod Taylor is capable of taking over a game to lift his team to victory. When everything was going wrong on offense back in Week 5 at Tennessee, Taylor willed his team to a one-point win converting a 3rd-and-23, throwing a 46-yard bomb, making a one-handed catch in a goal-to-go situation and throwing a game-winning touchdown pass on the same drive.

It’s a shame a knee injury slowed the quarterback’s momentum, but he’s expected back after the bye week.

**

Charles Clay ty boss Pep Guardiola says they’re playing like relegation candidates. He felt the champions underperformed in the first half of Saturday’s 3-0 win over Aston Villa.”If we play like we did in the first half, we will be relegated or in the relegation pin seven games has shown that he can be a difference maker in the passing game. If he can maintain his current pace, his 78 catches and 800 receiving yards would not only be personal single-season bests, but would shatter the franchise mark for the tight end position.

In no way is Buffalo a poor scoring team when it comes to executing in the red zone. The Bills rank a respectable 13th in the league in red zone touchdown efficiency at an even 60 percent. It’s just that scoring from distance has come a bit easier so far this season.

From Percy Harvin’s 51-yard touchdown catch in Week 1 to EJ Manuel’s 58-yard bomb to Marcus Easley in London, Buffalo has turned big plays into points. That’s why the Bills lead the league in points scored outside the red zone with a total of 92 through seven games. That’s more than half of the team’s points this season (52.2%).

Buffalo’s run game was pretty productive through the first three weeks of the season, then hit a road block in the form of the league’s number two run defense in the Giants in Week 4. They were also without top rusher LeSean McCoy for that game, and proceeded to lose Karlos Williams to a concussion.

With McCoy finally approaching 100 percent health Buffalo’s run game is on the rebound. Since the Week 4 loss to the Giants, the Bills are averaging 4.5 yards per carry and have the sixth-highest percentage of carries that have gone for 10 yards or more (14%).

Currently ranked 11th in the NFL, Buffalo’s run game is miles better than they were last season when they ranked a disappointing 25th in the league.

The talent in Buffalo’s receiving corps is well documented. The group is largely responsible for the previous listing above. The Bills wideouts have also had a major hand in the team’s top five catch rate. Through seven games Buffalo has the fifth-lowest drop rate in the NFL.

Only four percent of the catchable passes thrown at Bills receiving targets have been dropped. So out of 155 catchable balls thrown through the teaonal Partnership with Pyynikin Brewing Company at the British Embassy in Helsinki, Finland, reports www.fcbusiness.co.ukAs a part of City’s on-going international strategy to expand the Canaries brand throughout Finland, the club and Pyynikin Brewingm’s first seven games only six have been dropped.

Roberto Martinez losing battle to save Everton job after questioning ‘desire’ of his players

content_img

data-js=”article-body” data-insert-mobile-adslot>

Having earlier seemed secure until at least the final home against Norwich City next Sunday, Martinez could now be gone sooner. The Everton board knows theelder Youri Tielemans.Foxes manager Brendan Rodgers has told the board he wants Tielemans to remain at the club permanently after his impressive loan stint during the second half of the season at the King Power.Rodgers wants a deal completed as soon manager will face a hostile environment if he is still in charge at the end of this week.

As Martinez seeks a reprieve from the concerned Goodison hierarchy, rival candidates are manoeuvring into position with Ajax’s Frank De Boer publicly declaring his interest in the post.

Another dire performance has threatened to wreck Everton’s hopes of finishing in the top-half of the Premier League.

The Spaniard faced renewed calls for his dismissal from a mutinous travelling support and there appeared to be friction with midfielder Ross Barkley, who stormed down the tunnel after being substituted late in the game.

Martinez’s post-match press conference lasted only 104 seconds and he later insisted that Wednesday’s trip to Sunderland is now their biggest game of the season.

Sunderland could secure survival with a victory at the Stadium of Light but Martinez has demanded a response as he fights for his future.

“There is a lot riding on the game for us after the performance we had today, we need to react and we need to perform in the highest possible level,” he said.

“It is good that we have a game around the corner but the importance of our performance is as big as you could feel we had in any other day in the season. I expect to have a performance on Wednesday.

“We played last week and we had all the attributes you need to win a football game. Today is a contrasting performance, we got caught up into what was a celebration for the home team and we didn’t look ready.

“A young player who could maybe have been caught by the occasion was Matty Pennington and he was the only player who played with intent, with meaning and desire and it is a shame no one else on the pitch could match that focus.”

A ‘Martinez Out’ banner was unfurled in the away end towards the end of the game and Everton’s season has been one of dismal underachievement.

After losing the FA Cup semi-final Napoli president Aurelio de Laurentiis admits they were outbid by Arsenal for Nicolas Pepe. The Gunners paid €80m last week to land the Lille striker last week.De Laurentiis told Sky Italia: “I made an important offer for Pepé, but we have not managed to get him. “Arsenal has five times the income of Napoli, so they will have simply offered him more money. “No matter, we will find another Pepe.”against Manchester United, Martinez was targeting a top-ten finish as a means of saving the campaign. That now looks unlikely and supporter has been ebbing away at boardroom level.

Farhad Moshiri, the new major shareholder, has pledged to invest millions this summer but it noster City are at risk of a Champions League ban.The Mirror says City could reportedly face a Champions League ban if they are found guilty of financial irregularities. The Premier League champions have been under investigation by a regulatory committew seems certain Martinez will not be the man to take the club forward.

He also knows others are coveting the post and the board is assessing its options.

Ajax coach De Boer’s agent says his client would love to join Everton. He would be under consideration, alongside others of the calibre of Southampton’s Ronald Koeman.

“He would love to join a club like Everton or Valencia,” said De Boer’s agent Guido Albers. “It’s all about the right philosophy and how they play football. That is what Frank is looking for.”

Louisiana Tech’s Jaylon Ferguson sets NCAA career sack record

defensive end set an NCAA record for most career sacks during his team’s win over in the Hawaii Bowl Saturday night.

Ferguson entered the game with 42.5 sacks for his career, 1.5 sacks shy of former star Terrelle Suggs, who finished his career with 44. Ferguson finished the night with 2.5 sacks to move to 45, and just ahead of Suggs.

Ferguson could have had 3.5 sacks in th should be competing for trophies. The Giallorosso haven’t won a title for 11 years.“It’s such a shame for a club like this not to have won anything in the last years,” Dzeko told the Athletic. “Hopefully this can change, because this club, first e game. Fortunately, it wouldn’t matter in the long run, as Ferguson would pick up a half-sack in the third quarter to tie the record, and then another sack on Hawaii’s next possession to set the new standard.

Notre Dame is running out of reasons to keep Brian Kelly after latest indiscretion

content_img

The totality of Brian Kelly’s nearly seven years at Notre Dame have been marked by multiple scandals, the newest of which involves academic misconduct. As far as Kelly’s tenure is concerned, it’s another demerit for a coach that has been a part of two bad ones already.

Actually, “bad” doesn’t even do them justice. But more on those later.

The that Notre Dame must vacate up to two full years of football victories, including games from its 2012 national title runner-up season, as punishment. The crux of the misconduct stems from a former student athletic trainer who completed coursework for two student-athletes; additionally, the former trainer provided “six other football student-athletes with impermissible academic extra benefits.” Some of the athletes took part in misconduct on their own as well.

The NCAA can punish Notre Dame how it sees fit. It can fine the Irish $5,000. It can publicly reprimand the university. It can enforce a two-year show-cause for the former trainer. And, yes, it can take away the wins. Few outside of the NCAA, the school and maybe some fans likely care about the sanctions anyway.

The bigger issue is that Notre Dame is dealing with yet another off-field issue with Kelly in charge. Barring a change of heart from the administration, however, it appears for now as though Kelly will survive this.

There’s a reason, of course. said it best: “Kelly is unequivocally Notre Dame’s best coach since Lou Holtz.” He’s a brilliant coach who rose from the Division II ranks at Grand Valley State — where he won two national titles — to the pinnacle of at Notre Dame.

Still, Kelly’s ever-growing legacy is complicated. He has just two seasons of at least 10 wins in South Bend, but he did take the Irish to a national championship appearance; of course, that season is on its way to being vacated now. This year, the Irish are 4-7 and are guaranteed their first losing season since 2007.

There are the controversies, too. There have been since Year 1.

In October of 2010, Declan Sullivan, a 20-year-old Notre Dame student, was killed while filming the team’s practice when the hydraulic scissor lift he was on crashed due to high wind gusts exceeding 50 mph. Kelly said in the following days that despite the weather conditions.

Notre Dame later that “There are many people that will carry that for the rest of their lives.”

T believes Mason Greenwood deserves his first-team chance at Manchester United. But the Geordie has warned the teenager over the pressures of Premier League stardom. With Anthony Martial and Marcus Rashford both struggling for fitness while midfielder Phen there’s the Lizzy Seeberg story published by .

The Seeberg case was, in the big picture, far more about Notre Dame’s failures than Kelly individually. However, the coach caught heat — deservedly so — because Shembo “stayed silent about the accusations under orders” from Kelly. Shembo in the lead-up to the 2014 .

So when put in context, academic misconduct is far down the list of important issues Notre Dame has faced in recent years. However, given Dani Ceballos will make his debut for Arsenal against Lyon in the Emirates Cup on Sunday.Ceballos has joined the Gunners on a season-long loan from Real Madrid. The Spaniard will take the number eight jersey vacated by Aaron Ramsey.Arsenal-Liverpool-Chelsea-Barcelona-Gossip-Latest”>The Expresssays Arsenal fans won’t have to wait long to see their second signing of the summer.its academic reputation, it is an issue the university takes seriously.

Athletic director Jack Swarbrick said as that Kelly will “lead this team out of the tunnel opening day next year.” The “dreaded vote of confidence” is , but the misconduct “has nothing to do with me and my status here … Any negative criticism that’s out there about me right now is because we’re 4-7.”

Sure. In Kelly’s defense, he’s not the one committing the misconduct. But the best way to describe a coach’s role in these types of situations is that while they’re not “responsible” per se, they are “accountable.”

Over the course of the last six years, Kelly hacardi to leave.Wanda Nara, the wife and agent of the striker, has stated Icardi is staying. But Marotta says: “We greeted Wanda Nara’s comments with a pinch of irritation, both for the timing and the method.“I can also categorically deny that somes been at least partially accountable for some dark days at Notre Dame. At some point, Notre Dame has come to a conclusion whether it will hold Kelly (and itself) accountable for those things. If nothing else, he doesn’t seem interested in doing it himself.

This isn’t the worst moment for Kelly and Notre Dame. Those were years ago, and if there were ever reasons to fire Kelly, they would have been it. This is, however, the latest incident. And they eventually add up quicker than many realize.

Michigan students plan ‘Khaki Out’ for Harbaugh

content_img

Jim Harbaugh is not Michigan’s coach yet. Just about the entire world expects he will be soon enough, but it’s not official yet. Reports say that it could be official by Tuesday, however, with Harbaugh anticipated to be at Michi player at the club, and one you would desperately want in your five-a-side team at training. That is according to former Hoffenheim midfielder Pirmin Schwegler. Before he was someone labelled as ‘world-class’ by Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp, Firminogan’s Big Ten basketball opener against Illinois.

And the Michigan student section is ready for him.

In honor of the man himself: Jim Harbaugh, Maize Rage will be hosting a “Khaki out” for the game on Tuesday. Wear your khakis and GO BLUE!

— Maize Rage (@UMMaizeRage)

I do believe this would be the first recorded “khaki out” in student section history, so it’s going to be a very important event.

I just hope that, if Harbaugh does show up to the game, he’s wearing khakis … because if he isn’t,his move to Real Madrid. The departing Flamengo attacker’s transfer was confirmed this morning. Mizzou’s Gary Pinkel had no choice but to dismiss Dorial Green-Beckham

content_img

It may be that Gary Pinkel had no choice.

coach kicked his best receiver — and perhaps his best player — off the team Friday. It was absolutely the right thing to do to Dorial Green-Beckham and for Pinkel.

Male Mizzou athletes had been involved in a series of — at least alleged — incidents against women stretching back to 2011. Green-Beckham was the subject of a recent incident repoamsdale has revealed he has the full backing of manager Eddie Howe.Ramsdale is currently the first-choice.He told the Daily Echo: “He (Howe) said, ‘The shirt is now yours until you give me a reason to rethink it’.”It was a big deep breath moment and rt in he was not charged last weekend but , “causing her to fall down at least four stairs.”

Sometimes too much is too much. And there has definitely been too much at Missouri lately. There have been four incidents of (at least) alleged criminal acts against women regarding Missouri athletes since 2010.

• Former tailback Derrick Washington was sentenced for five years in prison in 2011 for felony deviate sexual assault against a female student. He served four months.

• Basketball guaxecutive of Scottish soccer’s Football Association (SFA), says that the “transformational” impact of the ongoing Fifa Women’s World Cup could lead to the creation of a full-time professional league in Scotland. The Scottish national women’s soccer teard Michael Dixon transferred within hours of a second rape accusation in two days coming to light according .

• Swimmer Sasha Menu Courey allegedly was sexually assaulted by football players. She subsequently committed suicide. Her plight became a national story .

The receiver’s dismissal came the same day an independent investigation found the Southampton continue to work the French transfer market. The Mirror says Southampton manager Ralph Hasenhutl is tracking Troyes teen sensation Bryan Mbeumo.Winger Mbeumo, 19, scored 11 goals in 39 games for the French second division side last season.Saints would have to pay in excess of £7m to land Mbeumo, who is also wanted by German duo Schalke and Wolfsburg.school when investigating Courey’s alleged sexual assault and suicide.

Pinkel and the administration deserve credit for cutting ties with perhaps the school’s most visible athlete. But, really, what choice did they have?

No school should need this many incidents to conclude the obvious: DGB had issues. Perhaps the athletic department needs a massive self-examination. The coach who cut the cord on Green-Beckham on Friday, himself went through a .

DGB had come to be beloved at Mizzou and was arguably the best player on the field in December’s SEC championship game. The kid most likely would have been a preseason All-American. On his official recruiting visit, fans chanted his initials as he watched a Mizzou basketball game. He was, arguably, the biggest recruit ever landed by the program.

His signing was a sign Mizzou not only belonged in the SEC, but it would flourish. Both things happened in the short term. Mizzou has a chance to play in another SEC title game. DGB has the rest of his life to grow up.

His final off-field stat line will read two marijuana-related incidents and the latest incident report. All of it happened in less than two years on campus.

The woman in question did not press charges because “she was afraid of the media and community backlash,” according to a .

Green-Beckham’s girlfriend said in the same report that the receiver drug her out by the neck.

No charges were filed, but Green-Beckham had run out of second chances. He was three months removed from another run-in with police in his hometown of Springfield, Mo. Saturday is his 21st birthday.

Earlier in the day, Green-Beckham saying he had been “young and dumb.” Now, he’ll have to grow up and smarten up somewhere else.

“It’ isn’t thinking about abandoning Manchester City amid their UEFA crisis. The Mirror says Sterling is fully committed to Manchester City as they battle to overturn their European exile.Real Madrid are already being linked with a £150million summer movs probably a three-week deal,” Graham said, . “He’d probably be doubtful. I think I’m safe in saying that. Our deal is we want to go win this thing, and he’ll be ready for the next one.”

Grice spent the Arizona game on the sidelines, . Graham , calling it “day to day.”

D.J. Foster excelled in replacing Grice against the Wildcats, rushing for 124 yards and 2 touchdowns on 23 carries and adding 26 receiving yards to boot. But the loss of Grice would still be a major one, as the senior leads the Sun Devils with 996 yards rushing, is the team’s third-leading receiver with 438 yards through the air, and leads the entire Pac-12 with 20 touchdowns.

And of course, even with Grice available, the first meeting between the Sun Devils and Cardinal this season ended in  that was only that close thanks to a furious second-half ASU rally. No one in Tempe will believe things can’t be different with the venue shifted to Sun Devil Stadium and Graham’s team having improved substantially since then, but nonetheless, Grice’s injury won’t do a thing to help their chances.

Royal Purple is new sponsor of Las Vegas Bowl

content_img

We have important bowl game sponsorship news! The Las Vegas Bowl has a new sponsor and has been rebranded as the Royal Purple Las Vegas Bowl. New name, same Vegas flavor!

“Today marks a wonderful new alignment between our bowl, our city and Royal Purple,” said the bowl’s executive director, Dan Hanneke, in a release. “Our event will only continue to grow with the addition of a great title sponsor and we can’t wait for the 22nd edition of the game, which is now just three months away.”

I know, I’m pretty excited about it all too.

If you’re wondering what Royal Purple is, well luckily the release was kind enough to include that information. According to the release Royal Purple is a Texas company that “produceurt Zouma.New Chelsea boss Frank Lampard wan ideal choice for manager.Ratcliffe was delighted to see caretaker manager Duncan Ferguson lead the team to victory over Chelsea on Saturday in his first game in charge. He wrote for the Everton-pick-boss-knows-club-attract-Mauricio-Pochettino.html”>Dts to assess his squad before making a decision on the 24-year-old defender, who excelled on loan at Goodison Park last season.Silva says the Toffees will move on to other centre-back targets if a move doess a wide range of high performance lubricants for nearly every consumer and industrial application.”

And let me assure you that there are oh so many jokes I could write about “high performance lubricants” and Las Vegas,an’t escape the daily grind by sipping on posh Lavazza coffee. The Italian brand, which is the clubs’s official supplier, is available throughout the Emirates. However, the club’s hardworking behind the scenes crew are told to sup instant coffee on ma but I’d like to keep my job, so I won’t.

Oh, and also because they’re motor oil products. Get your mind out of the gutter.
